Cartersville Police have arrested two people following their response to an apartment Saturday evening where a 26-year-old woman was found unclothed and unresponsive on the floor.
According to Cartersville PD the body of Ashley Harris was discovered in her apartment she shared with three other people, two of whom have been arrested for drugs.
Harris’ roommate Ronnie Clinton Strong told police he went to check on her while she was taking a bath and found her unconscious underwater. He says he pulled her out of the tub and went to get help. 9-1-1 was called but emergency crews could not revive Harris.
Cartersville Police Captain Mark Camp says the case is not a homicide investigation and that Harris is believed to have drowned as the result of a seizure.
Police say the smell of marijuana in the home was easily detectable, leading to drug arrests of two residents.
In custody are Vanessa Chambliss Strong, age 43, and Ronnie Clinton Strong, age 33, both charged with possession of marijuana.
A third suspect wanted for drug-related crimes is 26-year-old Bryant Lavon Chambliss. Chambliss is currently a fugitive. Officers have issued warrants for his arrest on three felony drug charges including possession of meth with intent to distribute.
